International Green CalendarApril 22 is the Earth Day, that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. From 1990, Earth Day is being coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year with activities focused on environmental issues.
Another important green day is the World Environment Day (WED) on June 5, that stimulates awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and public action. It was the day that United Nations Conference on the Human Environment began. The United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was from June 5-16 1972. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. World Environment Day is hosted every year by a different city with a different theme and is commemorated with an international exposition in the week of June 5.
Food Waste Recycle SchemeFrom March 16th 2011, K11 introduced Food Water Recycling Scheme. It encourages and assists in handling kitchen waster, including the purchase of necessary ingredients and creatively use of kitchen waste. Moreover, K11 provides the participating restaurants covered kitchen waste recycling bins without their paying.
Power Charging Service For Electric Vehicle
To support the Government to promote the use of electric vehicles, K11's parking lot has set three electric vehicle charging stations, and which are free of charge.
K11 Green Living Around The World
The Piazza of K11 Art Mall is designed as an European-style garden; striving to create an urban indoor landscape, by planting more than one hundred maple trees, bringing sunlight from the skylight and playing soft nature music.
Wuhan 11 Gourmet Tower, total area of 160 square meters, with the walls of Chang Jiang River as blueprint, the whole building is heat insulation which can reduce air-conditioning consumption for 20% or more.
