Artist Statement:
Birds rely on their wings to fly to ever more distant destinations, and their shape
and importance is comparable to the hands of a person. The work plays on the resemblance
between hands and wings to show that, although humans cannot fly with their hands,
they use them to build creations that let us fulfill even bigger dreams, taking
the world forward.

The "Dust Tree II" is made from recycled materials: the branches of the tree take their second life from old wood crates and the bronze creatures made by HK secondary school students. Base on the research of local popular tree "Acacia Confuse" & "Bombax Ceiba" for the creation development.
How is this society formed? What is my role in this society? Maybe this tree will let me share the understanding when I am sitting or standing there.
The creatures from the forest which the students made act as the metaphor of various people living in this city. This tree could be epitomized as a society more than just a recycled tree, everyone definitely could find him or herself from here. Good luck!

Artist Statement :
This sculpture shows its compression, being pulled and dissolved. Layers of distortion would generate strong visual impact to audiences and would keep them exploring the uncertainty from the artwork.

Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Artist Statement :
The sculpture strongly arouses various mysterious associations, guiding people into an unknown state of mysticism, legends, or variations. The artist intends to explore the ultimate significance of “distortion”/ “weirdness” through expressing the spiritual panic, impacts of unknown energy on man’s mind, and interlaced objective beings. The grotesque and gaudy appearance of the work is exactly derived from the artist’s deep investigation on the distorted spiritual state of contemporary people.

Zhang Hua tends to use complicated and expressive folds to shape the sculpture, in the form of compression and expansion. It gives a vivid picture of the emotions of the Sea, giving the audience a feeling of anxiety. The strong visual impact plays as if passers-by could actually hear the weeping of the Sea.

Artist Statement :
Oh's work is always playful. He likes to combine different media in quirky installation of objects staged as improvisations on a chaotic and indecipherable theme. The bowl of cold noodles reminds us the signature of traditional Korean cuisine being recognized in the global food culture, while the suspending noodles in still motion arouses our appetite but holds us to slow down for appreciation at the same time.

Artist Statement :
"A simple interest in the form of bones as such.
Things in the body that cannot be seen with the eyes. A definite form fluctuates. Because they look like a new structure or are not seen, they may be the bones of a new animal."

Eliasson emphasizes the tricks of light, scale and refraction. This lamp seems to be much smaller than his other artworks, but is exquisite enough, reflecting the environment with its mirror on the surface. He is brilliant in making the light tangible, and this dazzling lamp creates multiple and dimensional spaces through specular reflections.
